Day One Arrive in Johannesburg, transfer to Centurion Lake Hotel and have a leisurely lunch on the deck. After lunch, a site seeing tour of Pretoria the Union Buildings and Paul Kruger House. Day Two This day is a full day transfer, moving down the escarpment from the Highveld to the Lowveld, experiencing the vastness of South Africa. You will be heading towards the Kruger National Park to Hazyview with a lunch break half way. Accommodation will be at the luxurious Kruger Park Lodge.
Day Three Experience a full day Safari in an air conditioned vehicle in the lower parts of the Kruger National Park trying to spot the Big Five. Day Four This is a sight-seeing day, up the escarpment along the Panorama Route. Visits to Pilgrim’s rest, Graskop, Bourke’s luck Potholes and the Three Rondawels are included. After lunch you travel down the beautiful Abel Erasmus pass and up towards Phalaborwa to stay at the 4 star Hans Merensky Lodge. Day Five Discover the northern parts of the Kruger National Park that is predominantly Mopani bush where large herds of elephants and buffalo can be encountered as well as exotic birds such as the Kori Bustard, the largest flying bird native to Africa and secretary birds. Day Six Full day transfer back to Pretoria and accommodation at Centurion Lake Hotel. Day Seven Travel to Lesedi Cultural Village to experience 5 different African style homesteads to see how these different people live their local traditions and try their unique foods too. Day Eight Visit Cullinan diamond mine, a mere 40 minute drive outside of Pretoria to get a rare glimpse of how a diamond mine runs from day to day and see where The Cullinan diamond, the world’s largest gem-quality diamond ever, was found. At 3106.75 carat and about 10.5 cm long, is very impressive. It was found on the 26th January 1905. Day Nine A day to explore Soweto. Start with a drive past the Soweto Baragwanath hospital followed by a tour of the Regina Mundi Catholic church. Followed by one of the routes that the children marched from school during the Soweto uprising, to Hector Pietersen Memorial Museum. Then on to Vilakazi street, the street housing Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Nelson Mandela’s homes and the Mandela house museum. After this head to Sakhumzis Restaurant for a truly South African meal. Day Ten Travel in a northerly direction to the Waterberg mountains, to experience an Adventures with elephants. This experience includes interaction with elephants: find out how elephants understand and learn; test how good an elephant’s memory is; and a short elephant back safari. If you are feeling really adventurous you can opt for the elephant swim too. After the elephant interaction enjoy lunch at the adjoining Zebula lodge on own account. After lunch visit their lion cubs and small reptile park. Then return to Pretoria. Day Eleven Fly down to Cape Town and head straight for Table Mountain, if it is a clear day as Cape weather is temperamental. Take in all the views and enjoy the beauty of the unique biosphere offered by the mountain. Return to the V&A Waterfront to explore the extraordinary variety of shops, boutiques, restaurants and the harbour. Day Twelve We’ll travel along the coast through Camps Bay to Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope and visit South Africa’s biggest lighthouse. On the way back, via the opposite side of the peninsula we will stop in Simon’s Town at Boulders beach to see the Jackass penguin in its natural habitat. Day Thirteen Experience the City sightseeing ‘hop on hop off’ Bus tour of the Peninsula that includes not only the city itself but heads all the way out of Cape Town to Hout Bay via Camps Bay. Day Fourteen Drive up to Stellenbosch, South Africa’s oldest town and view the famous Cape Dutch Architecture and surrounding wine lands. Visit a couple of exclusive wine farms. After lunch drive to the airport and catch an evening flight back Home.
